ILLINOIS AMERICAN WATER WILL BEGIN ITS ANNUAL FREE CHLORINE FLUSHING

ATTENTION CASEYVILLE WATER CUSTOMERS:

Beginning this week, Illinois American Water will begin its annual free chlorine flushing, which means chlorine alone is being used as a disinfectant as opposed to the regular combination of chlorine and ammonia.  This temporary change in disinfectant is necessary to ensure that the quality of the water in the distribution system remains at its usual standards.

This change will affect ALL services on the Caseyville Water system as we purchase our water from Illinois American Water.  You may notice a heavy chlorine smell in your water during this time, but we assure you that it is safe.

Caseyville Water will be doing additional hydrant flushing during the disinfectant process.

Additional information can be found on Illinois American Water website.
